About Gerrod Leroy Miller
When a spirit as bright and thoughtful as Gerrod Leroy Miller leaves us far too soon, the greatest thing we can do is to honor his legacy and emulate the kindness and generosity that he truly embodied. Gerrod lived life to the fullest and had extraordinary talent, energy, and persistence. One of his greatest passions in life was mentoring the youth of his community. He was a role model that provided guidance and support while allowing the youth to make their own life decisions. He inspired them to set goals, achieve their dreams and helped them develop strong values, such as integrity, respect, and empathy. To keep Gerrod’s passion alive, this foundation was created to award scholarships to Indian River County Students who also desire to give back to their community and create a professional impact in their chosen field of interest. This scholarship foundation is made possible with the generosity of the community and members of the family.
Changing the world is possible.
The Foundation endeavors to plant and grow financial assets to be distributed in the form of scholarship gifts towards higher education and training. The initial objective is to award a one-time monetary scholarship gift to students through an application review, interview, and approval process.
Several benchmark character qualities determine prospective students. The Foundation is seeking to identify those student candidates who demonstrate efforts and accomplishments proving the will to move out of their comfort zone to an elevated level of contribution and performance in line with the Gerrod Leroy Miller Foundation's core values.
Making a difference
In keeping with the Gerrod Leroy Miller Foundation Core Values and Vision Statement, focus and commitment to financial credibility, trust and accountability will always be emphasized and observed. The foundation exists to fund scholarships and other community projects directly or in collaborative partnership with other credible organizations to accomplish this vision and its objectives. Such awards and collaboration decisions will be made by majority vote of Foundation board members.
